Lorenzo Vitturi, Dalston Anatomy; Cocco, 2013

The photographic series Dalston Anatomy is an homage of Lorenzo Vitturi and a feast of the senses that the busy Ridley Road Market in London has been to him
Ridley Road Market is a large street market in Hackney selling food and goods from Asia, Africa, the Caribbean and Mediterranean and was established the 1880s.
The temporary sculptures that Lorenzo makes, mimic the lively and ephemeral nature of the market. By photographing it's objects, Lorenzo let's them survive before they will be able to disappear forever.

Fishbar, a space for photography run by Philipp Ebeling and Olivia Arthur, created an exhibition of the Dalston photo-sculptures made by Lorenzo Vitturi. The event took place on the Ridley Road Market itself! Large format posters were placed on the walls in the marketplace and a stall was transformed into a temporary installation.

It became really important for me to take the work back into the community to complete the cycle. I see this whole event as the culmination of my year long process with Ridley Road - Lorenzo Vitturi

Alessandro Gualtieri, Scented Installation; located in public area, 2013

Alessandro Gualtieri is a vanguard perfumer, who calls himself The Nose.
He has a highly developed sense of smell and can be considered as an artist working with odors.

Little ceramic creations, like the one above, are left by Alessandro on the streets. The small basin consists of a perfumed concentration that has been chosen by him to be smelled by passers-by at that particular location. The ceramic nose is a cast of Alessandro Gualtieri's own nose.

Paul Rigter, The Nose; Searching for Blamage, 2013

A documentary was made, following Alessandro in his quest to make Blamage, his new perfume that he will later on describe as: an unwise and unfortunate creation caused by bad judgement and care.

To accomplish this he desides to abandon all the common rules for designing perfumes. For inspiration he travels around the world, but the farther he goes, the more he seems to disrupt not only his environment but also himself. Will Blamage become a real blamage? is the question the makers of the film ask their viewers. The answer: Ofcourse! For Alessandro Gualtieri is genious.
